What is Bridge Hope Organization?+
Bridge Hope Organization is a women-led civil society organization advancing human rights, women's rights, and digital rights in Somalia. We work alongside communities to strengthen awareness, build local leadership, and create safer civic and digital spaces where women can claim and defend their rights.
When was Bridge Hope Organization established?+
Bridge Hope Organization was established in 2025 during a time when many Somali women were facing deep social, economic, and environmental challenges. It was founded from the belief that sustainable change requires more than short-term assistance — connecting humanitarian response with long-term resilience and rights-based development.
Who leads Bridge Hope Organization?+
Bridge Hope Organization is proudly women-led under the leadership of Naima Warsame Hassan, a civil society and humanitarian professional with more than eight years of experience working with communities across Somalia. Her work has focused on community development, human rights awareness, digital security, and strengthening the participation of women and youth in civil society initiatives.
What are the core areas of work?+
We focus on four interconnected areas: Women Empowerment — equipping women and girls with skills and confidence to lead; Human Rights — promoting understanding of fundamental rights; Women Human Rights Defenders — supporting women activists, journalists, lawyers, and civil society actors; and Digital Rights & Online Safety — strengthening digital security and data protection for women and civil society actors.
What is the Safe Sisters Program?+
The Safe Sisters Program is a digital safety training initiative for Somali women. It was organized by DefendDefenders and facilitated by Bridge Hope Organization. The program trains young women from advocacy, journalism, civil society, and humanitarian fields in digital resilience, secure communication, phishing awareness, data protection, and strategies for responding to online harassment.
What is the Empowering Mothers Program?+
The Empowering Mothers for Safe and Healthy Families program strengthens mothers' knowledge and skills on positive parenting, child rights, and protecting children from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. It was conducted at Tabelaha Camps, Garasbaley District, reaching 20 women living in displacement settings.

Bridge Hope Organization is based in Mogadishu, Somalia, and works across communities in Somalia. Our programs are designed to reach grassroots communities where need is greatest.

Key achievements include: 15 young girls trained in digital safety and secure communication; 2 capacity strengthening initiatives implemented focusing on human rights awareness and digital security; 1 digital safety program conducted in Mogadishu; and 20 women empowered through child protection and positive parenting training. These initiatives contribute to strengthening the resilience of women, families, and civil society actors.
