Naima Warsame Hassan
Civil Society & Humanitarian Professional
“Real change happens when women are not just included — but when they lead. Our communities have the answers; we just need to create the space for women to speak, act, and lead.”
Naima Warsame Hassan is the founder and Executive Director of Bridge Hope Organization. A dedicated civil society and humanitarian professional, Naima brings more than eight years of hands-on experience working with communities across Somalia — from urban centers to remote displacement camps.
Her work has focused on community development, human rights awareness, digital security, and strengthening the meaningful participation of women and youth in civil society initiatives. She has facilitated trainings, led advocacy campaigns, and built partnerships that have directly improved the safety, resilience, and empowerment of vulnerable populations.
Under her leadership, Bridge Hope Organization combines deep local knowledge with technical expertise to design and implement programs that respond directly to community needs — while upholding human rights principles, transparency, and accountability at every level.
A Journey Rooted in Community
Naima's journey into humanitarian and civil society work began not in a boardroom, but in the communities she grew up in. Witnessing firsthand the challenges faced by Somali women — from limited access to education and economic opportunities to the growing threats of online harassment and digital exploitation — she made a commitment early on to dedicate her career to creating pathways for women to lead, learn, and thrive.
Over the years, she has worked across multiple sectors — including protection, education, livelihoods, and digital rights — developing a holistic understanding of the intersecting challenges that women and girls face in Somalia. This experience shaped her belief that effective change requires addressing not just one issue, but the interconnected systems of inequality that hold women back.
