Impact & Outcomes

Sessions were highly interactive, featuring hands-on exercises, group discussions, real-world case studies, and peer learning. Participants actively shared their personal experiences with online threats, explored practical ways to protect themselves, and built supportive networks to continue promoting digital safety in their professional and community spaces. Beyond technical skills, the program fostered lasting mentorship connections and peer support networks, empowering participants to become digital safety ambassadors within their own organizations and communities. The engagement and enthusiasm demonstrated the urgent and growing need for digital rights awareness and online safety capacity among women in Somalia.

Strengthening Parenting & Child Protection in Displacement Settings

Tabelaha Camps, Garasbaley District
1–2 November 2025
20 Mothers

Bridge Hope Organization conducted a two-day Empowering Mothers for Safe and Healthy Families program for 20 mothers living in Tabelaha Camps, Garasbaley District. The program aimed to strengthen mothers' knowledge and skills on positive parenting, child rights, and protecting children from abuse, neglect, and exploitation — particularly within the challenging context of displacement.

This initiative recognizes that mothers are the first line of defense in child protection. By investing in their knowledge and capacity, we create a ripple effect that transforms entire households and communities, building environments where children can grow, learn, and thrive despite the hardships of displacement.

Key Topics & Activities

Positive parenting practices that nurture emotional bonding and trust

Understanding children's emotional, psychological, and developmental needs at every stage

Early identification of child protection risks including abuse, neglect, and exploitation

Creating safe, supportive, and loving home environments in displacement settings

Impact & Outcomes

The sessions were deeply interactive, featuring open discussions, practical role-playing exercises, real-life scenario analysis, and peer-to-peer learning. Mothers openly shared the unique challenges they face in parenting within displacement contexts — from limited resources and overcrowded living conditions to the psychological toll of displacement on both parents and children. Together, they explored child-centered solutions that are practical, culturally sensitive, and sustainable. By the end of the program, participants demonstrated significantly improved understanding of positive parenting and child protection principles. They expressed strong commitment to applying the knowledge within their households and advocating for children's safety and wellbeing in their wider communities.

"This training opened our eyes. We now understand that protecting our children starts with how we treat them at home — with love, patience, and understanding."
